  • Day 02 : Highlights of Tokyo City Tour ( Tokyo / Japan ) B/L

Pick Up: Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo at 07:30 AM
This day is about visiting the different attractions within Tokyo and get immersed in the cultural experiences the city has to offer. From the multitude of options available, we have planned for you to visit some of the most popular attractions like the Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace Plaza and the Senso-ji Temple. The visit is also interspersed with varied experiences like the Traditional Tea Ceremony experience, going for the Sumida River Cruise and visiting the hustle bustle of the busy Nakamise Shopping Street.
Tokyo Tower: We will begin the day’s tour with visiting the Tokyo Tower, which is a well-known symbol and observatory in Tokyo. The tower is inspired by the Eiffel Tower and has 2 viewing decks. The tour consists of visiting only the main deck, located at 150m. The visit to the second deck, The Special Observatory (located at 250m) has an additional charge and is not part of the package. Those wanting to visit can do so by paying the required charges at the location.
Immersive Tea Ceremony Experience: The best way to visit a location is to get an idea of the local traditions. Our next experience is curated with this philosophy in mind. After the visit to the Tokyo Tower, you get to attend a traditional tea ceremony at one of our hosts, where you can enjoy the green tea and traditional Japanese delicacies with the locals.
Imperial Palace Plaza: After relaxing a little with the delicious tea and tasty treats, it is time for us to head to the National Garden. The garden was a private garden of the royal family at one point of time in history, however, it is open to visitors now. From the plaza, you can also get a clear view of the Imperial Palace as well as the Nijubashi Bridge, which is popularly known as the face of the Imperial Palace.
Sumida River Cruise: After visiting the grandeur of an era gone by at the Imperial Palace, it is time to experience the new face of Japan – the modern day Tokyo – in a cruise boat on the Sumida River. You can enjoy the breath taking views and enjoy the atmosphere at Edo.
Senso-ji Temple and the Nakamise Shopping Street: After the refreshing boat ride, we will visit one of Tokyo’s oldest temples to get a glimpse of the old world charm and grandeur. The temple offers the visitors some of the most stunning architectural views including the bright red Kaminarimon Gate, a statue of the Thunder God and a five story pagoda. After marvelling at the architectural wonders that have stood the test of time, it is time to enjoy some street shopping at the bustling Nakamise Street, extending from the Kaminarimon Gate to the Senso-ji temple.

This day is dedicated to visiting two of the attractions Japan is known for around the world – Mt. Fuji and the Bullet Train.
Mt. Fuji 5th Station: The bus will take you from the Hotel to the 5th station along the Subaru Line. The 5th station is located at a height of 2300 metres (7546 feet) above sea level. Just being at this location, gives you a feeling of standing above the clouds. You can check out the breath taking views of the city under the clouds standing above them.
Lake Ashi Cruise: The next stop on this day will be the natural wonder – Lake Ashi. This crater lake was created nearly 3000 years ago, along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mt. Hakone, by a powerful volcanic eruption. The biggest draw of the lake apart from its own serene, natural beauty are the amazing views it affords of Mt. Fuji, just 30km northwest from here. Seeing the towering Mt. Fuji from aboard a ship is a surreal experience.
Komagatake Ropeway: The next and final destination of the day is a 7-minute ropeway ride to the top of Mt. Komagatake. A cableway ride up to the original shrine of the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya is an integral part of the tour. A total of 50 minutes will be available for the guests on the peak including the time to walk around the peak, soaking in the views.

This is the most important Shinto Shrine in the city that has grown around this particular shrine, making it an important part of the Japanese culture. One can enjoy the views of the city sitting in the front portion of the main hall and slowly observing the rhythm of life on the Wakamiya Oji approach road to the Shrine.
Enoshima Sightseeing: Having had a spiritual experience through the day, it is time to enjoy some cool ocean breeze.
