Introduction

  • Day 01 : Auckland Arrival ( Auckland / North Island )

    “Haere Mai”; – Welcome to Auckland, the City of Sails. After clearing customs and immigration you’ll enter

    the friends and family arrivals hall. Once you enter this area, our representative  will be here to meet you, and transfer you to your accommodation.

    The “City of Sails” is New Zealand’s largest city and surrounded by two harbours.

  • Day 02 : Auckland City Tour ( Auckland/ North Island ) B

    09:00 AM : Your experienced driver guide  will collect you from the foyer of your hotel  for a leisurely 4 hour tour of the city and suburbs.

    We will take you past Sky Tower, the tallest structure in the Southern hemisphere as we head for the

    Auckland Harbour Bridge, travelling to Takapuna Beach and on to Devonport and Mt Victoria where we

    will have a panoramic view of the city from atop one of Aucklands many extinct volcanoes.

    We then cross the harbour to the Westhaven Marina and the Viaduct Harbour area. This was significantly

    redeveloped at the time of the Americas Cup , the worlds most prestigious yachting trophy and now the

    scene of Aucklands entertainment &  restaurant area and the Maritime Museum.

    We carry on along the waterfront to the suburbs of Remuera and St Heliers where we have a chance to

    see the varied architecture of this area. If desired, we will stop at one of many sidewalk cafes along the

    waterfront for morning or afternoon coffee break and watch the world go by for a while (optional). A

    short visit to Bastion Point allows us to enjoy the sunken gardens here and the outstanding harbour & city views.

    A good photographic opportunity. We pass the beautiful Parnell Rose Gardens (at its best from

    November to February) on our way past St Marys Holy Trinity Cathedral, built in 1884 then to Auckland

    Domain and the Auckland War Memorial Museum and the Wintergardens. Will have a look here at New

    Zealand’s sporting emblem, the Silver Fern.

  • Day 03 : Waitomo Caves , Rotorua Geothermal & Maori Show ( Auckland / North Island ) B / L

    Pick Up: 07:30 AM from your hotel in Auckland

    This tour enables you to visit Waitomo Glowworm Caves and a number of leading attractions in Rotorua, including a Farm Show and Te Puia with its mighty geysers & boiling mud pools, and a cultural performance of Maori song and dance inside Te Puia’s sacred meeting house.

    As you depart Auckland today, suburban scenery gradually gives way to the farmland of South Auckland,an area favoured by bloodstock breeders.

    The Waikato River will then accompany you for much of your journey through the green countryside to reach Hamilton,

    a city carved in two by the mighty Waikato River.

    Continue South through prime farmland to reach the Waitomo Caves region (State Highway 37,Waitomo Caves Road).

    Approximate driving time Auckland to Waitomo: 2 hours, 50 minutes

    Distance: 195kms / 121miles

    10.50 am Please report to the Waitomo Caves Visitor Centre at 39 Waitomo Caves Road for your

    11.05am tour of Waitomo Caves.

    Here you can enjoy a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo glow worm caves including an underground boat ride (weather permitting) on a subterranean river.

    Overhead thousands of tiny glow worms light up the cave walls and roof.

    After your visit to Waitomo Caves Travel through a mixture of farmland, lakeland and forest to reach the geothermal city of Rotorua.

    While onboard your coach from Waitomo to Rotorua, a picnic-styled lunch is served.

    Approximate driving time Waitomo to Rotorua: 2 hours, 15 minutes

    Distance: 156kms / 97miles.

    Rotorua is one of the most famous destinations in New Zealand, and has a long history of welcoming visitors.

    There is a scent of sulphur in the air, and at nearby geothermal hotspots there are spouting geysers, acrid-

    smelling mud pools bubbling and belching, and warm geothermal pools and ponds that create a kaleidoscope of colour.

    Rotorua is also the heartland of New Zealand’s Maori culture, and visitors can enjoy a performance of song and dance,

    Activities and Attractions abound, with something to satisfy everyone from sightseeing to adrenaline pumping adventure options.

    After your sightseeing tour of Rotorua, return to Auckland where your driver will drop you to Sky City Coach Terminal, 102 Hobson Street

    Approximately 8:10pm.

  • Day 04 : Auckland to Queenstown - Morning Flight & Shotover Jet Boat Ride( Queenstown / South Island ) B

    Post breakfast and check out you will be transferred to Auckland airport for your onward flight to Queenstown.

    Arrive Queenstown

    On arrival into Queenstown you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel.

    Perhaps the most famous of all South Island cities, Queenstown’s pulse thumps to the beat of action,

    adrenalin and visual wonder. Set on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with the towering peaks of the

    Southern Alps in the background, this is the place that is often referred to as the ‘Adventure Capital of

    the World’. Alive with activity all year round, there is enough activity to keep you entertained all day and

    all night. Most visits to Queenstown will involve some form of outdoor adventure, as well as simply

    relaxing and taking in the scenery from one of the many cafés. And then as night falls it’s time to

    discover the town’s energetic nightlife!

    Afternoon : 03:00 PM SHOTOVER JET BOAT RIDE

    The Shotover Jet Boat, a roller coaster on water, introduces you to a unique and exciting experience of water ride through the narrow canyons.

    At a speed of 85 kph, the boat will past rocky outcrops and boulders. Experience the adrenaline rush of a high-speed boat!

    The 360 degree spins on water will make you feel like you are on a roller coaster.

  • Day 05 : Milford Sound Nature Cruise ( Queenstown / South Island ) B /L

    Pick Up: 07:15 AM from your hotel in Queenstown.

    Travel by luxury coach on an unforgettable journey from Queenstown to Milford Sound. Located within

    the World Heritage Fiordland National Park, this region is rich with dense rainforest, lakes and waterfalls

    cascading from rugged mountain peaks.

    Travel through the Southern Alps via the Homer Tunnel, a 1.2km tunnel drilled through a solid mountain

    of rock. Upon arrival at Milford Sound, board your vessel for a spectacular and leisurely cruise in New

    Zealand’s most famous waterway.

    Throughout your cruise, a nature guide provides an engaging commentary about the magnificent scenery

    and wildlife. Keep a look out for dolphins, seals and penguins. A picnic lunch is included for you today

    also.

    Return to the Milford Visitors centre where you will re-board your coach for travel back to Queenstown,

    arriving at approximately 8.00pm. If the weather is agreeable there is the opportunity to fly back to

    Queenstown (at an additional cost).

  • Day 06 : Scenic Glenorchy - Lord of the Rings Tour ( Queenstown / South Island ) B /L

    Pick Up:  09:00 AM  from your hotel in Queenstown.

    No visit to Queenstown is complete without a trip to picturesque Glenorchy, located about 50 minutes away,

    nestled on the northern shores of Lake Wakatipu, home to some of New Zealand’s best scenery and not to mention Middle‑earth magic.

    Whether you’re a Lord of the Rings fan or just want to see the absolutely amazing scenery Glenorchy has to offer, this tour is not to be missed.

    The tour visits numerous scenic locations and shares facts, stories and history about the region including Maori history. On tour enjoy time at the Glenorchy wharf and a drive through the quaint township before continuing on to beautiful Paradise, passing Diamond Lake and viewing Lord of The Rings film locations. A delicious kiwi style morning or afternoon tea is included and the opportunity to pose as a Lord of the Rings character while you’re there!

  • Day 07 : Queenstown to Christchurch, via Mt Cook ( Christchurch / South Island ) B

    Pick Up: 07:30 AM from your hotel in Queenstown.

    After breakfast & check out , Journey north through the historic gold rush routes of Central Otago to the Mount Cook National Park, a

    World Heritage listed site. Mt Cook is Australasia’s highest mountain at 3724 metres.

    Mt Cook – with panoramic views of Aoraki/Mount Cook enjoy a full buffet lunch (available as a pre-booked option) or take time to explore the Mount Cook Village.

    Here there is time to experience an optional scenic helicopter or skiplane flight with a snow landing (weather permitting).

    The park covers over 70,000 hectares of breathtaking alpine scenery and is also home to the Tasman Glacier; the longest in the Southern hemisphere.

    The road to Mt Cook takes you through high country tussock to beautiful Lake Pukaki.

    You’ll hug the edge of the lake for most of the way up the Tasman Valley to Mount Cook Village.

    At 3724 metres/12,218 feet, Mt Cook (Aoraki) is New Zealand’s highest mountain.

    It towers above a splendid cast of massive snow-clad peaks that make up Mt Cook/Aoraki National Park.

    Nudging one side of Mt Cook is the mighty Tasman Glacier, a 30-kilometre/18-mile giant and one of the longest outside the Himalayas.

    A short drive then brings you to the stunning glacier lake of Tekapo.

    The scenic route to Christchurch leads you out of the Mackenzie Country, named after the legendary

    Scottish sheep rustler who once roamed the area. Enjoy historic sights and museums in the country

    towns of Fairlie and Geraldine. At Mt Somers and Staveley there are historic cottages and lime kilns. The

    highly scenic climb up to Mount Hutt is followed by the natural beauty of the braided Rakaia River.

    Explore the old coal mining settlement of Glentunnel before passing through the farms and fields of the

    Canterbury Plains to the rural centre of Rangiora.

    Tour concludes at approx 7:00pm. Lichfield Street bus exchange in Christchurch

  • Day 08 : Christchurch Day Tour ( Christchurch / South Island ) B

    Experience Christchurch on this interactive and fun guided tour including

    Punting on the Avon,The Christchurch Botanic Gardens ,Christchurch Gondola ,

    Visit the delightful seaside village of Sumner with its boutique shops, cafes and restaurants situated across from the beach.

    En route we pass by the “earthquake artwork”, created by shipping containers designed to strengthen the seaside hill suburbs.

    You will be dropped to one of the Christchurch Tram stops where you will be given a ticket to explore the city centre on the trams at your leisure.

  • Day 09 : Kaikoura Whale Watch ( Christchurch / South Island ) B

    Pick Up: 07:30 AM from your hotel in Christchurch.

    This full day tour includes a scenic tour from Christchurch through the rolling hill country of North Canterbury to Kaikoura.

    The trip north takes you past the surf beaches of Woodend, Waikuku, Leithfield and Amberley.

    Kaikoura is a base for wildlife experiences of all kinds – it’s also a great place to eat crayfish.

    A whale watch tour can take you to see Minke, Humpback and Southern Right whales mixing it with dolphins and orcas.

    You can also walk to see fur seal colonies and spy on big seabirds such as mollymawks, albatross and petrels.

    This afternoon you enjoy a three hour Whale Watching experience by boat. Off the coast of the Kaikoura

    village is a marine environment so rich in nutrients that it attracts some of the most magnificent creatures with which we share our planet.

    Your comfort and safety is of paramount importance. If the sea and weather conditions are not suitablethe tour will be cancelled.

    Passengers who suffer from motion sickness are advised to take precautions before arriving.

    On the conclusion of your tour you will be returned to your accommodation in Christchurch.

  • Day 10: Depart Christchurch

    Sadly, your holiday is at an end and you will be transferred to Chrishtchurch airport today for your onward flight.
